Something Good for a Change

Something good for a change.  I am tired of bitching about well.....everything. So here is something positive.

We have been in a seven week fight with the school system and the esc over a one-on one aide for my son.  He has had one for the past three years.  This year the school board decided that he does not need one.  WRONG.  They changed their mind after many phone calls and the first day of school evaluation.  The ESC is the hiring agency for one-on-one's.  they do not have a pool of employees for the position.  So, they had to find one.  The first one was incompetant.  The second and third did nto take the job (although one of them was ideal) for personal reasons.  The fourth was also incompetant. 

Again numerous complaints about the fourth one, including me screaming onthe phone in the middle of a lunch time crowded restaurant, sorry for that,  they changed their minds and interviewed a new canidate that we recommended to them.  Fotunately, or unfortunately for my son, the fourth aide picked him up from a chair improperly right in front of the ESC hiring person.

She now has been transferred, our aide had been hired, and my wife can now not go to school with my son for the first time in seven weeks.

Moral of the story.....don't cry wolf, have the facts on your side and fight like hell even when you are so stressed out, tired and at your wit's end.  They know you are in that position, delay as long as they can so that you give up.
